It has been some time since I have put anything on this blog. Just haven't felt like it for some time now. This past year has been one of losses with my Mom and Sharon's dad passing on. Their deaths have affected me more than any other's including my dad. Perhaps it because of my own age that I feel closer to death and therefore felt these losses even more.
I lost a job of 17 years but in that lose I found out just how marketable I am. The ob offers continue to come in daily. Not that I am such a "hot" commodity, but there is such a demand for nurses.
I took a job with a lot more clinical interaction with patients than I have had in quite a while and enjoy being back in the clinical arena, more hands on care and much more teaching people to make healthy choices.
Sharon and I are becoming very focused on retiring. As it stands today, things seam to change on a daily base, we are planing to retire January 1,2010. Sharon will be very old by then and will be able to collect SSI, Me too.
Our plan remains to retire on Vancouver island,BC, at least for the summer and spend the winters in sunny Florida until we can sell our Florida villa, then look for something in Arizona or new Mexico for our winter residence. Well that is today's plan, what tomorrow brings no one knows, stay tuned for further updates of the Sharnon & popop saga it could change even as I am writing this.
